(Monday, 07 January), a picture was released with a statement by Mr Woodward’s family.

The statement said: “The family are shocked and saddened by Simon’s sudden death. He was much loved and respected by family, friends, work colleagues and all those he met.

“As an established member of the local community he will be sorely missed. The family wish to be left to grieve at this difficult time.”

Managing director John Calvert said: “Simon was extremely hard working and very professional and got on really well with his colleagues. He worked closely with a team of about eight people and got on with them very well. The news of his death was a huge shock and he will be greatly missed by all of us here, particularly those who worked closely with him.”

 

Police Statement released 21st Feb 2008

FOLLOWING a detailed forensic examination and investigation by the
constabulary’s major investigation team, officers are satisfied there is no
criminal element in the death of Simon Woodward, who died on January 3 in
Fenstanton.

No further action will be taken against a 37-year-old woman who was
arrested and bailed in connection with the death.

The matter will now be dealt with by the coroner.
